About us

“Voyage marked by changes of fortune.”

Odissea is an artful experience meant to be worn as a reflexion of a kind of subtle beauty. Our pieces are crafted with the intention of enhancing details, shapes and colors from the world around us. Odissea was born in the Rockaways -the strong and indistinct combination of the ocean and a lost wandering soul made meaning to the brand. The ever changing expression of the natural shells sparked its course representing change as a vehicle for beauty. This is Odissea: a voyage marked by changes of fortune.

Nathalie Martinez is a born and raised Mexican artist. Her involvment with different branches of art, such as photography, painting, craftsmanship make her aesthetic very unique and ephemeral. Her keen eye for beauty makes her work complex and liberating, exposing the true nature of freedom and introspection in a beautiful way.

Currently all of our pieces are crafted in Taxco, Mexico and CDMX where we work with artisans who’s craft brings to life Nathalie’s designs with their own silversmithing techniques passed from generations to generations.

Taxco, Mexico

Our jewelry is hand-made in Taxco. This small town in Guerrero, Mexico was once a very Cosmopolitan destination in the 50’s given that William Spratling - a visionary New York silver designer - established in Taxco during the 30’s to pursue his craft, later becoming one of the world’s most influential silver houses at the time.

At Odissea we strive to contribute to design with an ethical, appreciative way, from the very early stages, Nathalie knew she wanted to work with artisans, ensuring to bring craftsmanshipinto each and every single piece - making it human and special. When looking for people to work with it was very sad to see that this craft is only practiced by only a few left - the younger generations look for bigger opportunities in the cities. By providing jobs, we hope the community raises awareness about the importance of these, known by only a few, otherwise the extinction of crafts would be devastating.

Help us raise awareness of how important it is to preserve this craftsmanship - all craftsmanships around the world that have been going extinct because of the mass production era that we live in. Behind all of our pieces there is soul, there is someone who dedicated hours of work and love to every piece, making it special.
